SVS Project in Bogalay Township

The Social Vision Services is established with the
purpose of social knowledge development. And also able
to perform the social knowledge given services for all
of the social works that related to the education,
health, social, cultural, economical, agricultural and
human protection. After Nargis Cyclone damage, SVS
implemented 4 clean Edutainment project in Kyun Thar Yar
village tract, Bogalay Township from October to November
2008 cooperated with Unicef. It convered villages and
including activities such as distribution of hygiene
kits and latrine, pipe and pan, latrine construction,
edutainment distribution of IEC materials and
monitoring. From January 2009, SVS is starting the
project in 8 village tracts of Bogalay Township.
The specific project objectives are as follows:
- Distribute of safe water to selected communities in
selected households 8 villages tracts.
- Construct new ponds
- Installation tank
- Provide orientation to village committee in the
management and monitoring of water distribution.
- Distribute latrine pans and pipes to selected
households.
- Construct demonstration latrines in selected villages
to promote latrines construction among
households.
- Carry out Edutainment to promote good hygiene
practices, sanitation and use of safe water among the
communities in the selected village tracts.
SVS are doing the project households (22522),
population (100881), (144) villages in 8 village tract
of Bogalay Township. In there we are doing water
distribution water tank installation, distribution,
latrine construction, pond construction and edutainment.
In water distribution, we are distribute by using
government tender boat and 8 boat.
Agricultural Project in Taw Ka Mal
Village Tracts
Dedayae Township
Social Vision Services is currently
implementing the livelihood project, winter paddy
cultivation in Taw Ka Mal village tract. Dedayae
Township from November 2008 to March 2009. But just now
we got a extension till to April. It convered 3
villages, 275 acres of 60 households with 2604
population. Over 300 landless get jobs and estimate
income for one person in 60000 kyats per one month being
our project. We built (3) residence-cum-shops for
windows and oldies. SVS gave CBO (Community Base
Organization) by management and hygiene training,
Capacity Building training for farmers, Agricultural
Guide Line and Agriculture Technical Training. And also
SVS supported by seeds, pesticides, diesels and
fertilizers. Now the situation of paddy is young seeds.
The purpose of the project is to improve the long-term
livelihood recovery.
Other Projects

1 - Our association has the arrangement for about
psychosocial. We are willing to improve the social
knowledges of human beings especially after Nargis
cyclone attacked. By doing so we can raise up the
knowledgement of citizens also the state will be
improved. To fulfill our arrangement we applied the
proposal for coordination with UNDP to perform
psychosocial support. Firstly we will do that at
Ayarwaddy Division, where the people attacked by Nargis.
2 - We also applied to cooperate with Mercy Corps for
Agricultural project (livelihood). We had a good
experience for agriculture so we believe we can handle
it well.

3 - We had a plan and proposed to cooperate with
World Concern for the distribution of boat in Ayarwaddy
Division.
4 - MOU with RI for providing nutrition and
environmental sanitation training sessions, edutainment
in 15 Village Tracts in the townships of Dedaye,
Koungyangon, Pyapon and Bogalay. Also perform developing
and distributing Diaster Preparedness Kits for 15
Village tracts.
